On June 7th, 2021, the Soil & Water Conservation District for Isanti had the watershed project done at the beach. Rain gardens, drains, berms, etc. were installed to prevent erosion & contamination of the lake. The funding came primarily from a county grant, but our SLI Association and Wyanett Township contributed also. Click in downloads under 'Spec Lake Grant' to see a map & more info. We are always looking for volunteers to help maintain our raingarden.
Click in downloads to find out more about these 3 invasive species: Zebra Mussels, Curly-leaf Pondweed, & Eurasian Milfoil and the management AIS. The DNR button on the public page has a wealth of information as well.
A solar powered CD3 machine purchased by Isanti County has a vacuum to pump water from live wells & ballasts, a plug wrench, a brush, & an air hose to assist in preventing the spread of invasive species.
Wyanett Township has a place where you can bring your leaves & grass clippings (no sticks) for free. Turn North off Hwy 95 at Highway Inn and drive North, it is on the right.
We do have snails in our lake & some people react to the microscopic parasites they produce & get Cercarial Dermatitis, or swimmers' itch. Residents should remove any snails & dead leaves from their beach & water, as they will continue to produce these parasites. Vaseline, suntan lotion, & bug spray deter them from embedding in your skin.

Our Association has Map Books of the properties on and around the lake. We have included contact information on an insert that is updated every 2-3 years. This book is $10.00 and only sold to residents & their families, and neighbors. If you are interested in a book, contact Karen Miller at kkmiller4@gmail.com.
