SWCD Watershed Project at the Beach

On June 7th, 2021, the Soil & Water Conservation District for Isanti had the watershed project done at the beach. Rain gardens, drains, berms, etc. were installed to prevent erosion & contamination of the lake. The funding came primarily from a county grant, but our SLI Association and Wyanett Township contributed also. Click in downloads under 'Spec Lake Grant' to see a map & more info. We are always looking for volunteers to help maintain our raingarden.

We do have snails in our lake & some people react to the microscopic parasites they produce & get Cercarial Dermatitis, or swimmers' itch. Residents should remove any snails & dead leaves from their beach & water, as they will continue to produce these parasites. Vaseline, suntan lotion, & bug spray deter them from embedding in your skin.
